Barry McGuire, Marlena Shaw, Garnett Silk

American Folk singer, this was the song that made him famous, written by P.F Sloan. Frank Zappa wrote Barry McGuire's name in the sleeve of his "Freak out" album as one of his musical influences

Now This is what a female singer should be: Black and angry. Woman of the ghetto, recorded in 1972 is one of Marlena's best songs. She started performing in 1966 and still does today.

Before his untimely death in 1994, Garnett was considered to be the next Bob Marley, not that I'm a huge fun of Bob or mainstream Reggae, still this one of his most beautiful songs.
